alrighty, since i feel like it, i’m gonna make a list! the list, obviously, is going to contain my favorite 5 albums of this year…
5) Alkaline Trio – Agony And Irony
Basically you’re typical pop-punk/emo album. Catchy melodies and such…

4) Dance Gavin Dance – Dance Gavin Dance
nice post-hardcore album, very aggressive and i like it!
3) The Gaslight Anthem – The ‘59 Sound
very nicely done punk album that sounds like it’s from the good ol’ days…
2) Anberlin – New Surrender
kind of pop-punk, but with excellent melodies and some interesting quirks…
1) Lydia – Illuminate
MY favorite album from this year, but i’m wierd like that… just listen to it! soft pop-esque indie…
so that’s it! haha there weren’t very many really really good releases this year, but those five managed to make it into my cd player for a lot longer than any of the others…

i used to listen to alkaline trio back in the day. their self-titled collection of their early EPs was my favorite record of theirs.
also, i just recently discovered that there was a band named “Dance Gavin Dance.” I was thrilled to see that of course. I’m glad to see that you like them. I don’t know the music, but they have great tastes in names.

a tale that only the internet could spin. so i’m browsing around for good literary sites, because i’m the only one i know who likes to read, and click on a link listing the best literary sites out there. well, it’s covering the story that it’s been listed in the best literary sites out there – not too humble, i know – and within the copy, lists some of the other sites that were honored. i go to another of these sites cause, well, i’m always looking for another good RSS (i collect them i collected newspapers on 11/5). this new literary blog site was actually a literary blog/music blog, and in it, listed this blog as a recent updater to a top-2008 music list.
i’m very picky with my music. as picky as i am with my reading. and so even more so than the literary stuff, i’m always hesitant to RSS/subscribe to a music blog because, unlike reading, if our tastes differ, i’ve lost 10, 20, 40 minutes of my life listening to bad music.
but thank you, internet! you brought me this list, this blog, and i will be a loyal reader from here on out. thank you lefty for showing me a great new list of blogs.
oh, and i’m also left-handed. this is a wonderful start to a wonderful RSS-ship.
